...to the home of THE NEW ENGLAND BRASS BAND, New England's premier brass band "In the British Tradition."
This season, we are saddened that our much loved music director Douglas Yeo, has announced his intention to retire from NEBB at the end of this season (read our 2007 newsletter for details). Doug has provided a decade of amazing leadership and dedication to the band, all out of the goodness of his heart. We have grown under and thoroughly enjoyed our time with Doug - and will miss him greatly at the end of this season.
We are, however, equally thrilled to announce that Stephen Bulla has agreed to join NEBB as music director for the 2008-2009 season. Stephen is one of the most sought after clinicians in the US brass banding movement and we could not find ourselves in better hands as we move into the future.
Terry Everson, our principal cornet and Assistant Conductor, who returns to NEBB in January after a LOA, has also announced that 2008 will mark the end of his tenure with NEBB. We will greatly miss his musical gifts and are so appreciative of all he has given NEBB over the years.
As we prepare for the North American Brass Band Association contest in March 2008 and all of our Spring concerts, we will soak in our remaining time with Doug and Terry to fully enjoy the talents of these two amazing musicians.
NEBB’s newest CD has arrived!. This is our tribute to American music and composers called ‘Be Glad Then America’. With this newest CD, NEBB has decided to continue our tradition of community giving by donating 10% of all profits from the sale of this CD to www.homesforourtroops.org a Massachusetts based organization that works to build housing for severely disabled veterans of war.
The highlight of our past season for us was our performance at the International Trumpet Guild conference in Amherst, MA where we had the thrill of supporting soloist Philip Cobb, Terry Everson, Rene Hernandez and Kevin Maloney. It was truly and amazing night and enjoyed by all.
We invite you to explore our website, sample (and hopefully purchase!) our recordings, sign up to be on our mailing list and learn how you can attend our concerts.
