...to the home of THE NEW ENGLAND BRASS BAND, New England's premier brass band "In the British Tradition."
We have completed our 2008-2009 season. Highlights include our trip to Louisville, KY for the annual NABBA competition. Kelly Watkins was awarded First Place in the High Brass Slow Melody Competition, DoraThea Kastanas won Third Place in the Percussion Solo competition and the NEW trio (Kelly Watkins, Isabel Tappan-deFrees, and Rachel Paczkowski) won Second Place in the Ensemble competition. In the spring, we recorded musical highlights from our season and hope to produce a new CD in the near future.
We are currently planning our 2009 - 2010 season.
Music Director, Stephen Bulla completed his first season with the band and by all accounts it was a highly successful year. Stephen will be continuing with us in the coming season and commuting from Baltimore, MD to work with the band. Subsequently our NEBB Patron Giving Program remains an important program to help us offset transportation costs. Please rejoin the Patrons for the coming season or join us if you were not able to participate last season.
This season we said good-bye to David Hall, Peter Howell, and Christian Riesebieter, all fine musicians and friends and we wish them well. In September we will be auditioning for new members in the cornet, horn, and trombone sections.
